VERLIE THYRA DYSON

Wearing hats and gloves, Verlie and her friend Norma Andresen went to the opening night of Till The Day I Die 1941 and were invited by Eddie Allison (qv) to have a post-show coffee with the cast. They immediately joined NT. In 1943 both were in the chorus of Marx of Time and Verlie played a barmaid and Norma a Salvation Army lass in Lawson. Verlie joined the CPA and worked at Marx House. In 1949 she married Alan Silas Salter at Rockdale; they divorced in 1954.

Verlie Thyra Dyson died on 6 May 1980 and was buried in Woronora Cemetery, as was Alan Silas Salter (Big Al) who died on 30 July 2006.
