In 1949 she married Alan Silas Salter at Rockdale; they divorced in 1954.

Verlie Thyra Dyson died on 6 May 1980 and was buried in Woronora Cemetery, as was Alan Silas Salter (Big Al) who died on 30 July 2006. Norma Andresen died aged 97 on 6 December 2020.
