GEORGE PAIZIE
Also known as Georg, for the WAC he directed Carrion Crow, winner of the one-act play section in the 1935 Sydney Eisteddfod, and Life is Calling, the “latest four- act play from the Soviet Union” set in a Moscow apartment, in 1936.
Paizie was also involved with the Austral Players. In 1936 he participated in their dance and playreading at Milo’s Café Club in King Street and gave a talk on stage technique. At the Little Theatre in Phillip Street he directed several plays including Australian writer Millicent Armstrong's Drought. In 1939 he directed Israel in the Kitchen and The Petrified Forest for the Jewish Youth Theatre, its casts including Jock Levy.
